Biography from Leonard Maltin's Movie Encyclopedia:

She made her acting debut, in the TV movie "Pioneer Woman," at the age of nine-she is the daughter of famed theater director and acting coach Gordon Hunt. Since then, Hunt has appeared in numerous TV projects, plays, and films but this versatile and appealing young actress has just come into her own in the 1990s. She appeared in Girls Just Want to Have Fun (1985), played Kathleen Turner's daughter in Peggy Sue Got Married (1986) and Matthew Broderick's love interest in Project X (1987) and has also appeared in Miles From Home (1988), Next of Kin (1989), the low-budget sci-fi films Trancers (1985) and Trancers II (1991), and the direct-to-video comedy Only You (1991). Overdue for a break on the big screen, Hunt gave excellent performances as a married woman having an affair with a paraplegic writer in The Waterdance (1992) and as an aging Billy Crystal's youthful talent agent in Mr. Saturday Night (also 1992). After years of appearances in episodic TV and made-for-TV movies, she finally attained stardom in the winning sitcom "Mad About You" (1992- ) opposite Paul Reiser.
