Reviews
Mine: Much more subtle than Mel Brooks other films. More character and less slapstick. Dom DeLuise is particularly funny.
Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis: mpoverished Russian nobleman Moody seeks one of 12 dining chairs, now scattered, with jewels sewn into seat. DeLuise hilarious as his chief rival. Unsympathetic characters hamper film's success, though mastermind Brooks still provides many laughs. Filmed in Yugoslavia; versions of this same story have been made in Hollywood, Germany, Argentina, England, and Cuba!
