An interesting take on on old story makes a good movie. Stunning visual effects, many great landscape shots, good acting, great action, and a believable storyline. Much grittier and more mature take on the original tale than other adaptations. Our nine year old liked it as well although is it pretty intense at spots.

In a twist to the fairy tale, the Huntsman ordered to take Snow White into the woods to be killed winds up becoming her protector and mentor in a quest to vanquish the Evil Queen.
