Reviews
Mine: A sub-standard Disney feature. The characters are not memorable. Music is dull. Lame attempt to be hip.
Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis: Free adaptation of Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist in the cartoon world: homeless kitten falls in with the jaunty Dodger and his canine pals, who work for Fagin, a nice-enough human nebbish in debt to the heartless Sikes. Dodger (Billy Joel) has the film's best song, "Why Should I Worry?"--but an excitable Chihuahua voiced by Cheech Marin provides the biggest laughs. Disney's grittiest (grungiest?) animated feature suffers in comparison to the studio's subsequent hits. Still, it's likeable enough.
